The above is meant as a guide only - we can add other options as you require.
Formats we accept...
Standard cassette; mini cassette; micro cassette; VHS video, mini-disc; MP3; DSS; WAV; WMA; and many more... if your format is not mentioned, just give us a call to discuss your requirements and we would be pleased to help.
Quality of audio...
A large factor in determining the quality of the transcript is the quality of the audio we receive.
Whilst we will do our best to transcribe everything, there are times when dialogue cannot be deciphered and we mark these as '[inaudible]'.
At times a tape thought to be of good quality actually isn't, or the quality begins to deteriorate part way through. When that happens, it is simply not in your best interests for us to persevere in transcribing a poor quality recording. If that arises we will always contact you to discuss how you would like us to proceed. Often we get asked to persevere and in these instances we try to get as much as possible out of the tape by re-listening to the tape several times. We may charge extra in these instances but will always consult with you before continuing.
If you require guidance in taping your interviews, please get in contact with us as we have a few tips we can pass onto you. After all, we are only as good as the audio allows and it is in your and our best interest for the best quality audio as possible.
